FAQs - 2022 Auditions
I was part of HGS 2021. Do I have to re-audition for the 2022 show?
The short answer - yes!
Because a lot can change in a year, including:
YOU - It has been a whole year since you have auditioned last. Since then, I'm sure you have grown a little, learnt a lot, and changed your skill levels. Just like any other year at Gang Show, it's important we have the opportunity to see what you can do, so that we can cast you in the best items that suits your talent and skills. Your school, sport, work and other commitments will have also changed, so it's important that we touch base and check in with what's important to you in 2022.
US - 12 months is a long time.
We have short memories! Please remind us of how fantastic you are!
THE SHOW - While the bones of the show are the same, a few things have changed. We have a few new items, and some new concepts woven into the 2021show, so we have new skills to look out for.
THE CAST - Some have moved away, or have other plans for 2022. We will also have some new cast joining us, who have since turned 11, have decided to take the plunge for the first time, or are able to return back to cast after having a break. Just like a test at school or university, it would be unfair to both you and the new cast members if we took your auditions scores from last year, and compared them to new sores on different audition content this year. Re auditioning gives everyone an even playing field.
Think of it as the perfect opportunity to share any new talent and skills with us, say hello to your friends, and chat with Lainie and Bec about what to expect in 2022!
Will I be cast in the same items and roles in 2022?
As mentioned above, we have made some exciting changes to the show for 2022! As such, it is unlikely that your casting will remain the same as it was in 2021. We will always keep communication open, and let you know what's going on.
If you have any questions, worries, or concerns, please speak to Bec.
I paid fees last year, but we didn’t get to perform. Why do I have to pay fees again for 2022?
As you can imagine, putting on a Gang Show isn't cheap! The cast contribution GOES TOWARDS things like printing your script, buying your cast t-shirt, paying for consumables like food, toilet paper, first aid equipment, printing of awards, badges, creating and printing flyers and posters and much more.
This doesn’t even include the hours and hours of performing arts training, costumes, props, and all the other things that you need as a cast member of HGS.
Your fee does not cover all of these things. The shortfall is made up by fundraising, ticket sales, grant money, and a lot of creative energy from our very talented and generous volunteers.
Unfortunately, in 2021, most of these consumables were already consumed.
For 2022, you will need new scripts, cast t-shirts etc for the show.
Your cast contribution for 2021 will go towards purchasing these things.
If you have any further questions about fees, please contact us and we will be happy to chat more.
Do you have a question that wasn’t answered here?
Send us an email! No question is a silly question.
